Java Turmeric is a native Indonesian plant that is familiarly known as “Temulawak” . Besides being cultivated in Indonesia, they are also planted in other Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Thailand. Traditionally and locally (in Indonesia) they are used as one of the ingredients in Indonesian herbal drink Jamu since the ancient times, and also to aid numerous sickess, lack of appetite, constipation, fever and more. Temulawak has also been exported to Europe since 1963.
